ITTF CHALLENGE SERIES
BRING THE WORLD TO YOUR CITY
2017 ITTF Challenge Series:
NEW & EXPANDED
As part of the rebranding, the ITTF Challenge Series will now be separate from the World Tour.
The ITTF Challenge Series is a professionally run series by the International Table Tennis Federation, the world governing body, with a series of events for new and upcoming players to challenge themselves and earn international recognition and experience.
The more-relaxed requirements will also allow more cities to get on board to host an international table tennis event, gaining experience just as the new and upcoming players are!
Hungarian Table Tennis Association organized challenge series events in 2014 and 2015. We did it in Szombathely the first time, than moved to Budapest to a brand new infrastructure. The organization of the event showed ITTF, ETTU and our government that we are capable of organizing serious events. We have learned a lot from these events and I think challange series events can be very massive. Our event was even voted to 3rd best event by the players. Because of these experiences we became brave enough to launch a bid for Major Series, European Championships and World Championships. Everything started with the challenge series!
